Being at Peace

I went adventuring today and completely lost service for the majority of the time I was in this city (Near Steamboat Springs- Stagecoach) . It was freeing. I find myself using my phone as a distraction method, I know a lot of us do this, but I want to try and be more conscious of this. I love to have my phone to keep in contact with my loved ones, but other than business and connection with those I love, the endless scrolling is not necessary. I find inspiration in a lot of things online, which is yet another reason I find myself on my phone. So to disconnect, if only for one day, felt amazing. I will be doing it more often. I was able to enjoy beautiful weather, with some light rain, find a lake, and get a piece of my Minnesota cravings taken care of. I realize that being somewhere away from most everyone that I know and love is a big decision and Colorado is well worth the choice, but I will always have a part of my hometown stuck with me. I said a prayer today over this lake for everyone in my life and also for those not in my life. I said a prayer for our human race, our Earth, every other living being, and I ended with a prayer for myself. So often we confuse prayer for asking our Higher Power for something in return, and while doing this we often praying for things we really don't need. Today I dug deep and let the Universe decide for me what I needed to be praying for. I surrendered my own personal "ego" needs and asked for what is needed for peace on Earth. I was given an answer to my prayer immediately, that answer was: find peace within yourself and you will find peace on Earth. I am working vigorously and endlessly on accepting what I cannot control and finding complete and total inner peace. If we could all promote this and work on our own inner peace, imagine the world we would create. Join me in this. It will be a completely non-violent battle within our own selves, and well worth the fight.
