In the last couple weeks I have worked a ton, hopped a flight to vegas for a couple days with family, and then back, moved out of my apartment and into a new apartment with some great people. My mind and body are exhausted, I even ended up getting sick! It has been a long time since I have been sick like this- I am talking a solid year or two since I can remember this kind of illness. In the last two years I have dramatically changed my lifestyle and it has strengthened my immune system and has kept me from getting sick often. With the schedule I built myself and the way I spent my energy in the last two weeks, was not in the way I normally would- and wouldn't you know it!? I got sick.
Anyhow- boo hoo everyone gets sick. BUT this post is more about how to cure yourself in a MUCH faster way than the norm! So far I have had symptoms for about four days:
Day 1- noticed some stuffiness in my nose and had a faint sore throat, my energy level was low but I had just gotten back from a trip so I figured this was normal.
Day 2- alllllllll of the symptoms full affect- stuffy and runny nose, sinus issues, ears popping constantly (can barely hear anything), coughing, can't taste anything, body aches, fatigue, loss of appetite, sore nostrils from blowing nose constantly, you name it.
On day 2 I told myself "this will be the worst of it." I told myself that I would not like to have another day feeling like I did today- so I chose to get better. I understand that this might sound silly, but it makes complete sense to me because I know that everything in life is 100% mental. As long as I truly believe that my body is capable of getting better at a faster-than-usual pace then my body will believe it too.
Day 3- Coughing up flem (gotta spit up those loogies people- it helps reduce the coughing a TON. In fact most of the time people's coughs will last longer because they don't spit out the flem that they cough up. Do yourself a favor and spit spit spit.) Nose is still a bit plugged, energy back up to normal, head feels clear.
What I did between day 2 and 3 to make such a difference:
POSITIVE MIND SET. Live life as normal (as much as possible) I did take work off one of the days to avoid passing my illness to my coworkers or clients- since my job requires me to work in extremely close contact with other people, it wouldn't be appropriate for me to show up in this way. But, with my day off- I slept in without an alarm, which was a huge help because rest is necessary when dealing with any bug. I drank fluids all day long including water, organic fresh juices, organic cleanses, teas and apple cider vinegar. The little amount I did eat was all organic, raw and fresh.

Day 4- nose is no longer running, still clearing out snot here and there but at a much more reasonable pace. I can mostly smell and taste everything again. Energy level is normal and brain feels clear. Although I am still coughing a bit, it is no longer uncontrollable or uncomfortable. I would say by tomorrow I will show no more symptoms.
3 days of feeling under the weather and by the 4th and 5th feeling back to normal with some slight symptoms is a fast recovery in my opinion. Compared to when I used to get sick, it would last a full week and sometimes a cough would linger for 2-3 weeks later. I am telling you, it is all about the way we take care of ourselves. I took no main-stream meds, no sleep aids, all I used for medicinals were natural, organic, and made straight from the Earth:
Organic immunity strengthener mouth spray from Sprouts
Organic ginger cough drops from Sprouts
Eucalyptus Oil
TONS of water
TONS of fresh juices
Clean eating
and marijuana helped me fall asleep at night so I could get some much needed REST.
All natural ways of curing a common cold. If you get sick, don't let yourself be sick for weeks, none of us have time to let our bodies be attacked like this. Take care of yourself the easiest and best way possible by keeping your insides clean and keeping your mind positive!
