Lost in the mountains

TODAY WAS A DREAM! I was blessed to have some great friends to go to St. Mary' Glacier near Idaho Springs, CO. It was crowded, but we soon saw why!! It is an up-hill hike leading to an all natural glacier that people will hike up to ski, snowboard, and sled. There is a lake (ICE COLD) that all sorts of dogs were swimming in... talk about heaven for those dogs, especially since it was around 80 degrees outside! Something I couldn't get over was how good the cool air, that blew off of the snow, felt in the heat of the sun, if that isn't the freshest air... I don't know what is! The water felt amazing on our feet, it was really wonderful to feel the HEALING that ice cold water can bring to hot, sore feet. Once I put my boots back on my feet literally had shrunk (previously hot and swollen) and fit much more comfortably again. After we got some good pictures we decided to go off onto one of the many trail options... with the great navigating by my friends (this was all of our first time being here), we somehow journeyed through the mountain to find waterfalls, logs that had turned into bridges to cross to the other side, challenging hills both up and down, and some of the most beautiful sights I have seen in this state yet, all leading us perfectly back to the trail we needed to get back to our car. This path we took wasn't a beaten trail at this point so we were excited and impressed to be back in the exact spot we needed to be. By now, we were exhausted, but this is a place I will make an effort to go back to, for I am not finished with it. I had a blast, I got a workout, I felt my soul, my heart was happy. GET OUTSIDE PEOPLE. You will not regret it.
